An earlier version of the MICH database recorded only species and the lowest taxonomic rank, therefore previous versions of this record displayed this specimen's name as Cortinarius orichalceus f. typicus. The earlier record may be the source of Mycobank record MB346069 which lists the abbreviated previous version of the name as a Nom. inval.
