After that year, Rutlinger and John Dycker were inferiores sculptores, with a salary of f 40, until the former died in i609, when Dycker worked for about ten years without a junior colleague. To whom ought we to attribute the new designs? A consideration of the dates seems to indicate Pitt, but I am disposed to think that the dies were the handiwork of his successor, Anthony. " Queen Mary made no change in the existing arrangements, either before or after her marriage with Philip of Spain, so Derick Anthony, with John Lawrence as under-graver, remained at the Tower, and was responsible for all the English and Irish moneys, as far as their types were concerned."
