ACHTENHAGEN, W. (Dutch). Contemporary Sculptor and Medallist, by whom I have seen a Portrait-medal of Baron van Harinxma
Thoe Slooten, in The Hague Museum, and another commemorating the Golden Wedding of Franz and Alma Meier.
In I9I4 he engraved a satirical medal on the European War,
showing on obv. Germany, as a warrior, beating France, Russia
and England, symbolised by the cock, bear and bull-dog; varieties.
A. D. The probable signature of an engraver who cut the medal
commemorating the Carlist Congress of Manresa; 1908.
