The Negro's church,.

The Message of the Minister 65 color or class, I would not want that thing. I would not and I could not pile up my millions if I had to do it at the expense of long hours and low wages on the part of those who produce the wealth. Our government with such a Kingdom as this could not spend 78 per cent. of its national income on past and future wars. The nations of the world would not spend their billions in preparation for human slaughter. It would not be a question of the reduction of armaments but the abolition of armaments. We talk about disarmament; but really there is only one way to disarm and that is to disarm. If I possessed twelve pistols, I would be potentially dangerous; if I had only one pistol, I would still be potentially dangerous. The way to disarm, is to disarm. As long as nations prepare for war, they are going to fight war. Girl babies do not hate dolls as a result of giving them dolls to play with. Our young men will never hate war as long as we make gods out of war heroes and as long as our government gives students war implements to play with. If this kind of Kingdom should come to the world, there would not be a mad rush to control and dominate the economic resources of the earth; but a passion to share all the goods of God's world with all of God's people. There would be no need of armies and navies, aeroplanes and submarines for war purposes, and no need of poisoning gases, battleships and machine guns. The nations of the earth would trust each other. And until they do trust each other, the world will continue to be a burning volcano capable of eruption at any moment. If this kind of a Kingdom should come to the earth, no race would want to keep another race down. Our military forces would not be in Nicaragua; they would not be in Haiti. We would gladly help the Philippines to independence and without condescension and without patronage. India would be free and Africa would not be exploited. All forms of segregation and discrimination such as those that exist in the United States in the expenditures of public funds, in travel, in politics and those that operate against us in social and economic areas would all disappear if the Kingdom of God should come. The fact is, America does not want these discriminations to disappear. America does
