KCHOPONG [ 507 3 KDKENG KtCHOPONG [ 507 ] K.lDhKENG III. Batu kkchubong: the amethyst, of which Malays recognize three varieties: k. kandan, k. nilam, and k. olong. vC k6chopong. (Riau.) A helmet; also (Kedah) kchubong, and (literary) ketopong, q. v. t3v k6chuwak. [Chin. ka-tsodh.] A cockroach; = lipas. 4~ k6chah. See kechah. 4d. k6choh. Mengedang- ngedangkan tangan: to stretch out the arms; Ht. Sh. Kub. k~dangsa. Limau kedangsa: a cultivated form of the lime; citrus acida. Kuntum A.: the blossom of the lime; Ht. Koris. kid6ngkang. (Onom.) The noise of a heavy blow on brass or wood. k0d6ngkeng. (Onom.) A sound somewhat sharper in tone than that defined bykedenigkang, q. v. k.d6ngkong. (Onom.) A sound somewhat deeper in tone than that defined by kedcngkang, q. v. kedengkek. (Riau, Johor.) Extreme emaciation. Also (Kedah) gedongkeng. ke'dongkok. (Singapore.) The flowered metallic ring under the keris handle and next the blade; (Riau, Johor) pendongkok, (Kedah) penongkok. k0dap. I. Tight; close; almost waterproof. II. Sa-kedap: (Kedah) a handful,-used of a handful of padi-stalks held in the hand for beating against the side of a tub. III. (Kedah.) To scratch the head. ~i~ k6chipong. To splash about when bathing; a variant of ketipong, q. v. j.. kichewa. Injured, wronged, harmed; put to shame, disgraced. Jangan tuwan-ku nama kechewa. do not permit any injury to your name, my lord; Sh. Sg. Kanch., 29. Orang apa kapada orang, diri juga yang kechewa: what matter your misfortunes to another? You yourself will (alone) feel the injury; Prov. '.. k6da. A glazed earthenware vessel of Chinese make; K1. See kedah, II. J3.\. kedadak. A violent diarrhoea; a choleraic attack. The word is, however, rarely understood in this sense, but survives in the expres*sion chekek kedadak: an imprecation calling down a miserable death of a somewhat indefinite character. Panj. Sg. u SO-5f kidut. A crease, a fold, a wrinkle; cf. ketak. Kedut is especially applied to creases in a dress. Berkedok-kedut: (Kedah) crumpled, of a dress..o.5 k~dit. A waistbelt; more usually kendit or gendit. I i i I I i kddepong. I. Worm-eaten, of fruit. Better kedenpong, q. v. II. (Onom.) The sound of thumping on a hollow surface. Xf' kedak. I. Lintang-kdak: lying across each other confusedly; scattering in all directions. II. Kedok-kedak or kjdak-kdok: (Onom.) a noise such as that of a bullock cart rolling along the road.. Cf k6dek. Slightly bent or curved; a slight curve. Dudok terkdek: sitting with shoulders bent; cf. kedu. Mata kFdek, inata kail kedek, or (Kedah) mata tekgdek: a peculiarly shaped fish-hook; a hook the shaft of which curves slightly backwards so as to bring the barb closer under the line. ~aj. k6dok. I. See kedak, II. 6-50 11. A tree the leaves of which are chewed as sireh, K1.; = kadok? kddikeng. Extreme hardness; not easily broken up, of stone.
