pompong. I. A large floating fish-trap
mainly of net. It is usually anchored in a
tide-way. This method of fishing is much
practised by Chinese fishermen in Province
Wellesley.

p1lekat. Kain pelekat: a cloth imported from
India.

four inches long. It is much used as bait for

Peinimpinb: A mentor, a guide. P. Johor:
the "Johor Guide"; the name of a Malay
grammar.
II. Daun pimpin: A plant (unidentified)
with a leaf proverbially unaffected by boiling;
(by metaphor) an obstinate man; J. S. A. S.,
III., 38., p6mikiran. (Kedah.) A boundary, a frontier;
a variant of peminggiran.
3ja4 pdm6ndak. A gold or silver joint or ferrule
between the blade and handle of a keris.
Usually pgnongkok or pendongkok.
