Aj.) rumpu. Mgrumpu: to heap fuel on a fire to
make it smoke heavily, especially by way of
a practical joke.

going to make up a medical prescription;
the different spices required for flavouring a

Kling "curry-stuff" shop; Sh. Sing. Terb.,

bodily; putting one's arm round a man's
waist and raising him off the ground.
L~A) rampai. Miscellaneous; of a mixed character; variety. Bunga r.: a fragrant preparation
made by cutting up pandanus leaves and
mixing the shreds with the petals of flowers,
with perfumes, etc. Minyak 1r.: a fragrant
oil made with various flowers. Pantun r.: a
miscellaneous collection of disconnected
pantttns. Penganan r.: cakes of all sorts.
Pikir nan jangan banyak di-rampai: do not
let your thoughts be too inconsequent; Sh.

Ranpaikan: to scatter (the bunga rampai);
(by metaphor) to spread news, etc. Khabar
di-rampaikan: the news was spread; Sh. U1.,

Merampai: to cut up (the pandan leaves to
make the bunga ranpai); cf. laksana mterampai
si bunga pandan; Sh. Jub. Mal., 15.
y ) rimpi. (Riau, Johor.) A preparation made
by drying a banana in the sun, and so preserving and selling it; (Kedah) impi.

loose, as a thief wishing to escape from the
clutch of a policeman. Tuwan putbri pun
ntenangis terlalu sangat seraya meronta-ronta
hgndak berlepas diri-nya: the princess wept
copiously and struggled to free herself from
