Allocate to Richard de Grey, keeper of the king's islands, Westminster. in the farm thereof, 201. 15s. 8d. yearly during his office, being 101. for lands of that value in the islands granted to Drew de Barentin, and 101. 15s. 8d. for rent there granted to William de Chaenny. By K. Liberate to Clement de Welles and Robert Coby, king's chaplains ministering at the Tower of London, 25s. each for their wages from Easter in the 36th year till Michaelmas following, their yearly wages being 50s. each. 1251. Dec. 27. *Liberate from the treasure of Ireland to P. Chacepork, keeper York. of the wardrobe, 9521. 15s. 3d. to pay the expenses of the household. [1252. May 8. Allocate to R. de Clare, earl of Gloucester and Hertford, in the [Westminster?] first debts due from him at the Exchequer, of the 201. which he receives yearly as earl for the third penny of the county [of Gloucester], 201. for the last half of the 29th year and the first half of the 30th, when John son of Geoffrey was sheriff; 100s. for the time of Robert Walleran, being the third quarter of the 34th year; 100s. for the time of John le Flemeng, being the last quarter of that year; and 101. for the first half of the 30th (sic) year. Liberate without delay to Henry, archdeacon of Bremen, 10 marks for Easter term in the 34th year and 10 marks for Easter term in the 35th year of his annuity of 10 marks. Allocate to Laurence Frowyk and Nicholas Bat, sheriffs of London, 41. 3s. 2d. expenses of carters bringing necessary victuals to York before Christmas in the 36th year. By E. de Westm'. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to buy 165 pair of shoes in the city, part to be worth 41d., part worth 5d., and part worth 6d., and deliver them to brother Roger the king's almoner for distribution to the poor, making sure that he has them in the wardrobe on the Wednesday before Whitsuntide. To the bailiffs of Gloucester. Contrabreve to let John Malemort, maker of the king's quarrels at St. Briavels, have his liveries fortnightly from Easter in the 36th year till Michaelmas following out of the farm of their town, being 72d. daily for making 100 quarrels and 1ld. for fletching (inflecchiandis) and feathering them. * This writ is not expressly directed to the treasurer and chamberlains of Ireland. As the attestation is inserted later, the following 5 entries may belong to 8 May.
