Contrabreve to let Robert Walerand have 100 marks of the king's gift out of the issues of his bailiwick for his expenses in the king's service both beyond and on this side of the sea. By K. & C. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to receive 20 tuns of wine which Peter de Gisorciis the king's chamberlain of London has taken and will deliver, and to carry them by water to Windesores to place in the king's cellars there. [Mandate to Peter accordingly.] * Liberate to Peter de la Tannoc (sic), king's clerk, 39s. 9d. of the king's gift for his expenses while remaining in England from the day of St. Edmund the confessor till that of St. George the martyr, while the king was abroad. Vacated quia aliter inferius (7th entry below). Liberate to Hugh de Abrynythyn and John de Bundemor, messengers of the king of Scots, who lately came to the king in England on their lord's errand, 30 marks of the king's gift, that is, 20 marks to Hugh and 10 marks to John, for their expenses homewards. Liberate to Ellen, laundress of the hall, lid. daily of the king's fixed alms, which Cecilia, laundress of the wardrobe, deceased, used to receive for life of the king's gift for her maintenance. This writ is patent. May 20. Liberate to Elenard de Seningham 100 marks on the arrears of Westminster. his fee. Liberate to Margaret, countess of Flanders, 500 marks on the arrears of her fee. By the earl of Gloucester, H. le Bygod, justiciar, and J. Mansell. To Nicholas de Haudlou, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester. Contrabreve to let Master John Clarel have 300 marks without fail out of the first issues of the bishopric, setting aside all other payments, to satisfy the merchants to whom he is bound for his * Added afterwards.
