44 HENRY III. 489 1259. Membrane 11-cont. king is sending- away to England, have 18d. daily from the Saturday after St. Martin till the king's return to England, for his wages and for the maintenance of the king's hounds in his keeping, and 41. arrears of his wages for time past, all out of the issues of the bishopric, as the king is now in the act of setting out to the parts of France for the renewal of the peace arranged between the king of France and himself. Nov. 11. Allocate to the same Nicholas, in the issues of the bishopric, Canterbury. * [1001. for his expenses for a year from the time when he received the keeping of the bishopric, of the 1001. granted to him yearly to take therefrom by his own hand during his keepership;] 241. 13s. 7d. delivered to John Wylemyn, farrier (marescallo) of the king's horses, to buy horses for the king in the last fair of St. Giles, as John has acknowledged before the king; 411. delivered to Walter, farrier of the queen's horses, for the like purpose, as acknowledged before the king by Walter; and 5 marks spent in carriage of 4365 marks of the said issues from Winchester to London by parcels on divers commands of the king. Liberate to Robert Walerand, going with the king to the parts of France, 50 marks for his expenses on the journey. Allocate to the same Robert, in the arrears of his farm of the castle of Rokingham and the bailiwick of the forests between the bridges of Stanford and Oxford, 50 marks in recompense of damage sustained by the time cut short of the five years for which the king had committed the premises to him at farm, as the king committed them within the said term to Thomas Gresley, justice of the forest this side Trent, during pleasure at the same farm. Allocate to Robert de London, in his farm of Ospreng, 201. delivered in the wardrobe at Canterbury to Aubrey de Fiscampis and Peter de Winton, clerks thereof, on Wednesday, the morrow of St. Martin. Note the essoin of the king's service made at the Bench by Henry de la Legh after his default there, in a plea of land against Ralph Pyrot. MEMBRANE 10. Nov. 11. To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to receive John le Poer, Canterbury. knight, taken and detained in the castle of Salisbury, who will be delivered by Robert Waleraund, keeper of that castle, and carry him safely to Corf for delivery to the constable of Corf, who is commanded to receive him and keep him safely till further orders. * Vacated quia aliter inferius.
