CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS.

1259. Membrane 4-cont.
delivery to Edward de Westm' and other keepers of the works
of the church of Westminster to carry out those works, not failing
hereof as he loves himself and all his possessions, the cost to be
credited by view.
To the bailiffs of Winchelese. Contrabreve to roof in without
delay where absolutely necessary the king's galleys and barges
newly made at Winchelese and La Rye, that they may not be
injured for lack of roofing, the cost to be credited by view.
To the sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk. Like order for the galleys
and barges newly made at Gernemuth.
To Nicholas de Haudlou, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester.
Contrabreve to send 601. out of the issues of the bishopric to
Westminster without delay and without fail, for delivery to
Edward de Westm' and other keepers of the works of the church
there to distribute among certain of the workmen in part payment
of the arrears of their wages.
July 7. Liberate to Lucy de Bray 100s. for this Easter term of the 101.
Westminster. yearly that she receives for her maintenance.
Liberate to Ralph de Gorges, king's yeoman, 10. for the same
term of his yearly fee of 201.
Hic recessit Henricus de Wengham a curia et remansit sigillum
penes Walterum de Merton.
Liberate of the king's gift 5s. to Robert Stel and his fellows, who
lately brought a sturgeon caught in the Thames to the king.
July 8. Liberate to Ruccus Cambii, citizen and merchant of Florence,
Westminster. of the chattels and debts of Elyas Levesk, now a convert, which
were delivered at the Exchequer, 70 marks for jewels which he
bought of Ruccus and which were delivered in the wardrobe after
his conversion.
Allocate to Robert de Cornhull and John Adrian, sheriffs of
London, in the farm of the city, 41. 1 s. spent in hire of 13 mounted
serjeants, and 41. 4s. spent in hire of.. 5 * foot-serjeants, by
order of Hugh l[e Bi]god,* j[usticiar] of England, for 7 days to
conduct Walter de Scoteny to Winchester.
July 9. To the sheriff of Stafford and Salop. Contrabreve to receive
Westminster. 12 stags and 6 bucks which Roger de Mortuo Mari is ordered to
