Contrabreve to salt 9 hinds Merton. which Richard and William de Candevre the king's huntsmen are ordered to take in the forest of Chette and deliver, and to carry them to Westminster against the coming feast of the Purification for delivery to the keeper of the larder. MEMBRANE 6. Jan. 28. To the escheator in co. Devon. Contrabreve to let Hervey de Canterbury. Chaworc' have without delay the 20 marks received by the escheator from Henry de Tra[cy] for Michaelmas term last, being arrears of his yearly rent of land in Haldesworth held at fee farm of Patrick de Cadurcis, brother of the said Hervey, the king having granted this on account of Hervey's praiseworthy service. Allocate to Walter de Burges, formerly sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, in the issues of those counties, 101. delivered in the wardrobe at Oxford to Peter de Rivallis, then keeper, by the hands of Alan de Hagheman on the Thursday after St. Botolph in the 42nd year, as testified by Aubrey de Fiscampo and Peter de Winton, clerks of the wardrobe. Liberate without delay to John Deusadjude, merchant, 40 marks lent on the security (per fidejussionem) of R. earl of Gloucester and S. earl of Leicester to Nicholas de Hadlo, going on the king's errand to Almain to the king's brother the king of Almain. Feb. 4. Liberate to John Bardof, Peter le Pipere, and their partners, Westminster. merchants of Ypres, unless they have already had it by another writ of liberate, 471. 12s. for cloth taken from them in the fairs of Northampton, and St. Edmund against the king's last return 29-(22)
