William de Hastencot for life, as appears in the king's letters patent which he has (Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1247-1258, p. 618). To the sheriff of Gloucester. Contrabreve to let Robert Walerand, steward of the forest this side Trent, have 50 marks without delay for this Easter term out of the issues of the last forest eyre in the county, of the 100 marks granted to him yearly so long as he holds that office. March 10. To Adam de Greinvill. Contrabreve to let Richard Pere NVestminster. (Pele in margin) of Windlesores have 64s. 8d. without delay out of the issues of the sale of woods which Adam was ordered to make in the forests, for brushwood taken from Richard by the hands of William de Rading and Thomas le Barbur, king's serjeants, on various arrivals of the king at Windlesores, as certified by them before the king. Vacated quia aliter inferius. March 11. Allocate to William de Swinford, sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk, Westminster. in the issues of the eyre of Gilbert de Preston and his fellows, justices last itinerant in co. Norfolk, 3791. delivered in the wardrobe to Peter de Rivallis, keeper, being 2001. on the Saturday after St. Peter's Chair, and 1791. on the Sunday before St. Gregory. To the keeper of the park of Wodestok. Contrabreve to admit Hugh Fran[ceis] and John le Naper, whom the king is sending [to Wodestok] to take 10 does in the park there, to [bestow] their counsel [and aid] therein, and to salt the venison and carry it to the king at Westminster against the coming Easter. To the keeper of the manor of Kenyton. Contrabreve to amend the queen's....................... to repair the defects of the king's [buildings] there where absolutely necessary, and to..... where necessary the hedge of the king's park, the cost to be credited by view. [To the keeper] of the park of Windlesores. Contrabreve to repair the hedge of the park where necessary with the underwood thereof. March 18 (?). [To the sheriffs of London.] Contrabreve to let John the chaplain, the king's almoner, have 150 pairs of shoes at Westnminster for the king and queen four days before Easter against
