424 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1258. Membrane 1-cont. To the sheriff of Notyngham. Contrabreve to make a fireplace in the chamber of the king's chaplains in the castle of Notingham, and to mend the palisade of the castle where necessary, the cost to be credited by view. Feb. 7. Liberate to William Caillard, sacristan of Westminster, 60s. to Westminster. buy orphreys to adorn two copes for the choir which the king lately ordered to be made to offer to St. Edward on his own arrival at Westminster on the Purification last. [To the sheriff of] Notingham. Contrabreve to make a fireplace and mend the palisade (as above), the cost to be credited by view and testimony of lawful men. To the sheriff of Northampton (as in fourth entry above). To the sheriff of Buckingham. Contrabreve to let the abbot of Medmeham have 63s. 4d. without delay out of the issues of the county, being arrears of 100s. which the king ordered to be delivered to him by Robert le Sawage, late sheriff, for the fabric of his church, of [the king's gift].* Feb. 10. Allocate yearly to William de [Bello Campo of] Worcester, Westminster. sheriff of Worcester, in the farm of the county, 41. deducted yearly from the profit [of the county] by occasion of a grant which the king made to William's father........... of the plea vetiti namii, with the profit thereto belonging, which used to belong to William as is said, as by................ Liberate to Hurninus de Bayon' 181. for a thousand of wax taken from him by the hand of Matthew Bukerell, citizen of London, and delivered to Andrew Poynant, clerk of the wardrobe, for the expenses of the household. Liberate to the keepers of the works of the chapel of St. Martin'sle-Grand, London, 25 marks of the king's gift to make 15 glass windows there with their ironwork. Feb. 12. Liberate to Master Peter de Ispania, from the king's treasure Westminster. and principally from the last eyre in co. Derby, 120 marks for two pictures (tabulis depictis) placed in the chapel of St. Mary at Westminster. Liberate to Garsyas Arnoldi, merchant, 361. for two thousand of wax taken from him at London by the hands of Richard de Ewell * See Pipe Roll 102.
