Allocate to the men of Sylveston, in the farm of their town, 4s. spent in taking 20 pike in the king's stew of Sylverston and in salting (saliandis) them and carrying them to London, against the feast of St. Edward in the 40th year. Dec. 15. To the sheriff of York. Contrabreve to let Alan le Usser have Westminster. 251. out of the issues of the county for Michaelmas term in the 41st year of his yearly fee of 501. Further in lieu of the said fee the king committed to him the manor and castle of Bolesovre to keep, as appears on the Fine Roll. Dec. 18. Allocate to Robert Walerand, constable of St. Briavels, in the Westminster. issues of his bailiwick, 25 marks delivered to John Malemort, maker of the king's quarrels there, from Michaelmas in the 39th year till Michaelmas following for 25,000 quarrels which he made in that year as he undertook before the king. Allocate to Adam de Greynvyle, in the issues of the sale of the king's woods, 401. delivered in the wardrobe at Westminster to Peter de Rivallis, keeper, on the Sunday after St. Lucy. To Robert Walerand, constable of St. Briavels. Contrabreve to take good surety from John Malemort, who makes quarrels there, to make 50,000 quarrels a year during the war in Wales, as he has already undertaken before the king to do; to pay him 50 marks a year from this Christmas so long as he is constable and John makes the quarrels, and to receive them and keep them safely till further orders; seeing that on account of the war the king is in extreme need of quarrels to equip divers places in Wales, and desires that the making thereof at St. Briavels should not cease. Dec. 19. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to purvey a thousand of Westminster. wax in the city with speed, and bring it into the wardrobe by Thursday, the vigil of St. Thomas the apostle, for delivery to Andrew Poygnant, keeper of the chandlery, against Christmas. To the same. Contrabreve to carry 150 tuns of wine to Westminster, 10 to Merton, 10 to Keninton, and 30 to Windlesores, out of 200 to be taken and delivered by Thomas Esperun and Matthew Bukerel, the king's chamberlains of London, and to place them safely in the king's cellars there. * To Peter de Rivallis. Contrabreve to let the wife of Imbert Pugeys have a complete dress of the king's gift, that is a tunic, super-tunic, and cloak furred with byse. * CarnceUed quia in rotulo clausarum.
