Robert had purveyed last summer to send to Wales against the
arrival of the king and his army there, and that the sheriff [did] *
nothing in the matter, but returned the writ without making
payment, to levy 50 marks without delay out of the issues of
Robert's bailiwick of Rokingham and pay for the victuals so
far as it will suffice.
Aug. 13. Liberate to Richard de Ewell, appointed to make purchases and
Chester. prises for the wardrobe, 201. yearly granted to him to maintain
himself in that office, being 101. at the Michaelmas Exchequer and
101. at that of Easter. These letters are patent.
