41 HENRY III. 395 1257. Membrane 2-cont. Liberate without fail to Artald de Sancto Romano, king's clerk, keeper of the wardrobe, * [out of the first moneys to reach the coming Michaelmas Exchequer, notwithstanding any past or future commands,] 100 marks to pay the expenses of the household. Allocate to the burgesses of Northampton, in the farm of their town, 40 marks lately delivered in the queen's wardrobe on her journey towards Notingham to pay her expenses, as the king understands by her letters. Oct. 1. Liberate to William de Hastencot 20 marks for this Michaelmas Woodstock. term, to which the king for his praiseworthy service has increased the fee of 15 marks which he used to receive at the Exchequer. To the bailiff of Fekham. Contrabreve to repair the king's pond and buildings of Fekham by view of Master John the king's mason and other lawful men of the manor, and enclose the courtyard with a hedge of thorns and switches, out of the farm and other issues of the manor. To the bailiffs of Suthampton. Contrabreve to buy a tun of wine out of the farm of their town and deliver it to the abbot of Heyles of the king's gift to celebrate divine service in his church. Oct. 3. To the sheriff of Oxford. Contrabreve to make a stable for the Abingdon. king's horses in the king's courtyard of Oxford, and likewise a wardrobe for the queen and a chamber for the king's chaplains, the cost to be credited by view. Oct. 5. Liberate to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper of the wardrobe, Windsor. 2001. without delay to pay for the expenses of the household and the king's works at Windesores, sending the money to the king at Windesores at once on sight hereof by Andrew Poygnant, and setting aside all delay and excuse. Oct. 5. Liberate without delay and without fail to Simon de Wycumb, Windsor. clerk of the queen's wardrobe, 1001. for delivery in the said wardrobe to pay the expenses of her household. Liberate to John Cunte, whom the king will deck with the belt of knighthood at the coming feast of St. Edward at the request of the community of Marsil', 100s. to pay for small matters of his harness. * Written over an erasure.
