1252. Membrane 13-cont.
Liberate to Roger le Galiot, king's serjeant, 71d. daily for his
maintenance during his life, which Master James formerly the
king's crossbowman used to receive daily for his maintenance
during his life. These letters are patent. By K.
To the sheriff of Oxford. Contrabreve to make a shoeing-forge
(marescalciam) at Oxford for the king and a wardrobe with a
fireplace for the queen, and three glass windows and other small
works there as the king has enjoined, the cost to be credited by
view. By K.
To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to carry 35 tuns of
wine, to be delivered by Ernald Geroudun, taker of the king's
wines, to Windesores to place in the cellar of the castle.
Mandate to Ernald (Erinaldo) to deliver the wine.
By the steward.
Liberate without delay to Siwsmeames, minstrel (istrioni) of
Guy de Lezingn' the king's brother, 40s. of the king's gift.

Feb. 12. To John son of Hugh the king's bailiff of Graham. ConWindsor. trabreve to pay 50 marks of the king's gift to John de Geres out of
the issues of the sale of the underwood of Eston to maintain
himself in the king's service. By K.
To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to carry 50 bucks and
100 does, which William Luvel, Philip de Candevere, and their
fellows, the king's huntsmen, will take alive in the forest of
Melkesham and Chippenham and will deliver to him, to Freymantel
for delivery to the keeper of the king's park there to place therein;
and to carry the nets from place to place as may be necessary.

Feb. 14. To the bailiffs of Suhampton. Contrabreve to pay for a tun
Windsor. of prisage-wine granted by the king's charter to the abbot of
Netley (loco Sancti Edwardi) yearly, which the keepers of the
king's wines at Suhampton will deliver to him for celebration of
divine service in his house. By K.

of their town out of the king's gift to the said abbot and his
