370 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1257. Membrane 7-cont. of Corf by the keepers of the works of the church of Westminster, out of the arrears of the issues of the last eyre in those counties, or the farm of the counties, or some other source, by view and testimony of the said keepers; and if he has not the money ready at present, to give security to the sellers of the marble for payment up to that amount within a short term. May 1. To the sheriff of Hants. Contrabreve to let Geoffrey de Windsor. Leukenor have 101. for this Easter term out of the issues of the current forest eyre, of the 201. granted to him at the Exchequer to maintain himself in the king's service. The like for Nicholas de Rummese, king's clerk. May 1. To Godfrey de Liston, keeper of the manor of Kenyton. Windsor. Contrabreve to let William de Westm' the king's chaplain of Kenyton have 25s. out of the issues of the manor for his wages from Michaelmas in the 40th year till Easter following. May 3. Liberate to the master and brethren of the hospital of St. Chertsey. Lazarus of Jerusalem, after payments as above, 80 marks, being 40 marks for Easter term in the 40th year and 40 marks for Easter term following, of the 40 marks granted to them yearly of the king's fixed alms. To the sheriff of Somerset and Dorset. Contrabreve to receive 6 stags to be taken by Richard and William de Candovre the king's huntsmen in his hay of Pederington, 6 to be taken in his warren of Corf, and 10 bucks to be taken in the forest of Recchich, all which they will deliver, and to salt the venison and carry it to Westminster for delivery to the keepers of the larder against Whitsuntide, which the king will celebrate there if God will. The like to the sheriff of Hants as to 10 bucks to be taken by William Lovel and Henry de Candovre in the forest of Axiholt. The like to the sheriff of Oxford as to 10 bucks and 6 roes to be taken by Hugh the Frenchman and John le Naper in the forest of Brehull. May 4. Liberate to the hermit of Brehull 50s. for this Easter term, Chertsey. which sum he receives yearly for serving the king's chapel of Brehull. May 6. To the sheriff of Somerset and Dorset. Contrabreve to let Merton. Ralph de Bakep[uz] have 10 marks without delay for this Easter term of the yearly fee of 20 marks which he receives at the Exchequer to maintain himself in the king's service. May 8. Liberate to William de Clare, after payments as above, 60 Merton. marks for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 100 marks.
