Liberate without delay to Master William de Waterford 50 Westminster. marks for his expenses on the king's errand to the parts of Spain; to Gaston de Gontaut 30 marks as arrears of any debts due to him from the king, and of the king's gift; to the messenger of P. bishop of Hereford, coming to the king in England on his lord's behalf, 100s. of the king's gift; and to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper of the wardrobe, 12 marks 6s. 8d. to use as enjoined. Liberate to Philip Taylor (Cissori) 431. and half a mark for 20 Westminster. tuns of wine bought of him at London by the hands of Thomas Esperun and Matthew Bukerel, the king's chamberlains of London. Liberate to the spigurnels 131. 10s. lOd. for 700 pounds of wax found by them to seal the king's writs from the day of St. Edmund the martyr in the 40th year to St. Hilary last, as reckoned by John le Faukener, keeper of the hanaper. Westminster. Liberate to William the king's goldsmith 60s. for a censer which the king offered to the feretory of St. Edward. By Henry de Mertinton. Watford (sic), whom the king has appointed as his messenger to the parts of Spain, and his men and horses have prompt transport at Dover, and to pay therefor. To the same. The like for Peter Gunsall, knight of Henry brother of the king of Castile, returning homewards with his horses and household. Liberate to the king's brother Guy de Lezinan 100 marks which he claims as arrears concerning the wardship of the lands and tenements of Henry de Hastinges, the king's letters patent 23-(22)
