Liberate to Baldwin de Villa 101. for Michaelmas term in the Westminster. 40th year of his yearly fee of 201. Allocate to Hugh de Acovre, sheriff of Salop and Stafford, in the issues of those counties, 101. paid in the wardrobe to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper, on the day of Epiphany in this year. Jan. 10. Allocate to the bailiffs and good men of Norwich, in the farm of Westminster. their town and their other debts to the king, 37l. 10s. spent in purchase of 15 last of herring by the hands of the sheriff in this year, and delivery thereof to Master Paul and other keepers of the larder at Westminster. Allocate to William de Swineford, sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk, 1001. delivered to Roger the tailor and Hugh de Turri in the fair of Lenn for the king's purchases there in the 40th year, and 401. delivered to them for purchases in the fair of St. Edmund in the 41st year, as testified by them. To the sheriff of Gloucester. Contrabreve to let William de Berkele the king's yeoman have 201. without delay out of the farm of the county or elsewhere in recompense for the marriage of Alice late the wife of Richard Luvel, which he did not have, though granted to him by the king. See Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1247-1258, pp. 395 and 503-4. To the bailiff of Wynches'. Contrabreve to make two good strong galleys with all the gear thereto belonging in the coming Lent out of the farm of the town by counsel of William Beaufiz and other good and lawful men of Wynchelse, the cost to be credited by view of lawful men. To the sheriff of Berks. Contrabreve to let Thomas le Ferun, monk of Syreburn, have 4 marks of the king's gift without delay out of the issues of his bailiwick to make three altars in the said Thomas's new work at Shyreburn. To the sheriff of Lincoln. Contrabreve to let the king's brother William de Valencia have 1501. without delay out of the issues of the last eyre in the county as arrears of his yearly fee for Michaelmas in the 40th year. To the sheriff of Suffolk. Contrabreve to repair where necessary the buildings of the king's castle of Oreford which were lately
