312 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1256. Membrane 5-cont. To the sheriff of Somerset. Contrabreve to pay 1 mark of the king's gift to the prioress and nuns of Beruwe. July 21. To the sheriff of Wilts. Contrabreve to pay 5 marks of the king's Gloucester. gift to Bartholomew le Bigod. Allocate to Robert le Sauvage, sheriff of Bedeford and Bukingham, in the issues of those counties, 30 marks paid in the wardrobe at Merton to Artald de Sancti Romano, keeper, on the Wednesday after Ascension, 30 marks paid in like manner at Gildeford on the Tuesday after the octave of Trinity, and 40 marks paid at Gloucester on the Wednesday after St. Kenelm, all in the 40th year, as testified by Peter de Winton, clerk of the wardrobe. July 22. Allocate to William de Dene and William de Weston, sellers Gloucester. of wood in the forest of Dene, in the issues of the sale of the said forest by provision of Henry de Bathonia, 1031. delivered in the wardrobe at Gloucester to the said Artald on Friday, the morrow of St. Margaret. Allocate to John de Suyneford, and William de Suyneford, sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk, formerly keepers of the abbey of St. Benet, Hulme, in the issues thereof, 971. 6s. 8d. delivered in the wardrobe at Westminster to the said Artald on the Friday in Whit week in the 40th year. To Stephen Fromund. Contrabreve to pay 601. without delay to the keeper of the queen's wardrobe for her expenses out of the issues of his present bailiwick or of others which he has held of the king, To the sheriff of Somerset. Contrabreve to pay 50s. without delay to William Sleg', vintner of Bath, for 57 sesters of wine taken from him by the hand of Joel the king's butler when the king was last at Bath, as attested by Aubrey de Fiscampo, clerk of the wardrobe. July 22. Liberate to Roger de Thurk[elby] 50 marks for Easter term in Gloucester. the 40th year of the yearly fee of 100 marks which he receives to maintain himself in the king's service. Allocate to Stephen de Aston, sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, in the issues of the last eyre of Gilbert de Preston and his fellows in those counties, 1301. delivered in the wardrobe at Gloucester by the hands of Oliver de Aston his clerk to Artald de Saneto Romano, [keeper,] on Monday the vigil of St. James. Cancelled quia non habuit.
