Liberate without delay to Reyner de Luk 9 marks for four gold-wrought cloths bought of him by Edward de Westm', king's clerk, and offered at Westminster at the Ascension last past. Liberate to William de Glouc' the king's goldsmith before the feast of St. Simon and St. Jude in the 41st year 1,000 marks to buy gold for the king against that feast. May 26. Liberate to the king's uncle Count Thomas de Sabaudia 500 Westminster. marks of the arrears of his yearly fee of 500 marks. Cancelled quia non habuit. Note that he had another writ of liberate for the said arrears, as appears a little above. Liberate without delay to brother John de Derlynton 15 marks to buy himself a manuscript (scripturam) of the king's gift. By K. Liberate to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper of the wardrobe, 1001. to meet the expenses of the household. May 27. Liberate to brother John de Kancia, messenger of the Pope, Westminster. 1,000 marks due to his lord for the 40th year of his yearly tribute (censu) of 1,000 marks. Allocate to John de Grey, in his debts at the Exchequer, 471. 7s. 3d. spent in repairs of the gate of the king's castle of Colecestr' and other works at the castle when he had the keeping thereof by grant of the king. Liberate to two chaplains ministering in the king's chapels at Westminster. the Tower of London their stipends of 50s. each yearly from Easter in the 40th year till Michaelmas following. Liberate to Bonus Runcinus, merchant, 18 marks for an embroidered cope bought of him and given to the church of St. Edmund the king; to Adam de Basing, citizen of London, 16 marks for the like; and to Bernard Nicolas' 20 marks for an embroidered cope bought of him and given to the church of St. Peter at Westminster. Liberate to Peter Bertram 841. 12s. for 44 tuns of wine bought of Westminster. him by the hand of Philip Luvel, treasurer, and 40s. for 2 tuns of prisage-wine taken from him, and to Peter Gyle 101. for 6 tuns bought of him by the hands of the same treasurer; all in the 40th year.
