40 HENRY III. 293 1256. Membrane 10-cont. Michaelmas term in the 40th year, being her dower of the fee which Hugh her husband used to receive at the Exchequer; and to Hugh de Lezignan 1001. and 25 marks for Michaelmas term in the 39th year, and 1001. and 25 marks for Michaelmas term in the 40th year, of the yearly fee of the said count his father which the king has given back to him and take his homage therefor. Liberate to Raymond de Sancto Martino, after payment as above, 20 marks and 7s. for Easter term in the 40th year (as on p. 215), and 39s. arrears of his wages while on the king's service in Gascony. May 11. Liberate to Bernard de Villa Honoris, after payment as above, Windsor. 601. for Easter terms in the 38th, 39th, and 40th years of his yearly fee of 201. MEMBRANE 9. May 11. Liberate to Bernard de Baly 4 marks for a horse lost on the Windsor. king's service in Gascony, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor (R6les Gascons, I, No. 4242). Liberate to Emeric de Rateys, after payment as above, 10 marks for Michaelmas term in the 38th year and 10 marks for Michaelmas term in the 39th year of his yearly fee of 10 marks. Liberate to Master James de Aqua Blanca, keeper of the queen's wardrobe, 1001. to meet the expenses of her household. Liberate to the king's yeoman Henry de Witsand, sick at London, 2 marks of the king's gift to meet his expenses. May 14. Liberate to Robert de Cilterna, after payment [to Count Thomas] Reading. as above, 91. 16s. arrears of his wages while with four other serjeants under Nicholas de Bolevyle in garrison in the castle of Fruncak down to the Monday after St. Dunstan as reckoned by Aubrey de Fiscampo and John de Swyneford, king's clerks. Liberate to John le Parker, after payment as above, 821. 12s. arrears of wages while he was with fifteen other serjeants under two knights on the king's service in Gascony, as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor (not on Patent or Gascon Roll). Allocate to William de Englefeld, in his debts at the Exchequer, 20 marks for Easter term in the 40th year of the 40 marks granted to him yearly to maintain himself in the king's service so long as he is itinerant in the office of justice.
