288 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1256. Membrane 0 —cont. To the sheriff of Salop and Stafford. Contrabreve to pay to Marmeduc' son of Richard 101. for Easter term in the 40th year of his yearly fee of 201. (see p. 182). May 5. Liberate to William de Chanlite, after payments to Count Windsor. Thomas de Sabaudia and others as enjoined, 50 marks for Michaelmas term in the 38th year and 50 marks for Michaelmas term in the 39th year of his yearly fee of 50 marks. Liberate to Geoffrey de Bulemund, after payments as above, 60 marks in part payment of arrears of his yearly fee of 60 marks. Liberate to William de Forges and Bernard Reymundi Barinuni 181. 158. for fifteen silk quilts bought of them by Bonacius the Lombard and Robert de Linton, clerk of Roger the tailor, receiving from William and Bernard the king's letters patent therefor. Liberate to the king's kinsman William de Abbezun, after payments as above, 1201. remaining due for the 38th, 39th and 40th years of the fee of 40 marks granted to him yearly at the Easter Exchequer. Liberate, after payments as above, to William de Forges 71. for lead bought of him for the king, and to Gerard le Carpenter 27s. 10d. for timber taken from him, for the king, both by John de Suwerc, king's clerk, the king's letters patent therefor to be retained [in the Exchequer]. Liberate to Arnold the chaplain of Sault-St.-Navailles (Saltu), setting aside all delay and hindrance, 10 marks for his expenses till the king shall provide otherwise for his losses sustained on the king's behalf in Gascony. Allocate to P. bishop of Hereford, in the farm of the king's manors of Lugwardin and Mawurdin, 711. lls. 8d., balance of 3001. pardoned by the king when last in Gascony for his labour and expense in staying with the king there and going on his errand into Spain, which sum was to have been allowed on his debts, but the sum allowed was only 2281. 8s. 4d. as his debts did not then exceed that sum. Liberate to Guy de Lezinan the king's brother, after payment [to Thomas de Sabaudia etc.] as above, 501. for Easter term in the 40th year of the 1001. granted to him yearly in increase of his yearly fee, 1001. of the king's gift, and 100 marks for his expenses, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor (Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1247-1258, pp. 457 and 463).
