Contrabreve to carry to Windesores without delay to place in the king's cellars there 20 tuns of wine to be taken for the queen and delivered to them by John de Gisorciis the king's chamberlain of London. Dec. 8. To the same. Contrabreve, so long as they are sheriffs and the Windsor. king's elephant is in London, to find what is reasonably necessary for it and its keeper. Contrabreve to let the king's Clarendon. almoner Simon the chaplain have 50 pairs of shoes for the poor against Christmas, at Winchester by the Thursday before Christmas, one-half to be worth 5d. the pair and the other half worth 4-id. Dec. 22. Allocate to John de Vernun, sheriff of Wilts, in the issues of the Clarendon. county, 5s. 10d. spent in repair of a chamber at Clarendon. To the bailiffs of Winchester. Contrabreve to let Andrew Poynaunt, keeper of the king's chandlery, have 500 pounds of wax against Christmas by the coming day of St. Thomas at latest. To the bailiffs of Suthampton. Contrabreve to buy 500 pounds of wax against Christmas and send them without delay to the king at Winchester so that he may have it in the wardrobe on the coming Thursday before Christmas.
