Membrane 17-cont. him by William Lovel and Henry de Candovr' the king's huntsmen, and salt the game and carry it to Winchester against Christmas for delivery to the keepers of the king's larder there. To John de Somerkote, keeper of the exchange. Contrabreve to pay 1001. without delay to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper of the wardrobe, to buy furs for the king against Christmas, so that the king may not be without furs at the feast through John's default. Liberate to the said Artald without any delay 361. 16s. to buy jewels as enjoined on him to present on the king's behalf to the bishop of Bologna and his men, not failing hereof as they love the king's honour. Liberate to Peter Roberti 141. 5s. 4d. arrears of his wages while Windsor. with the king on his service in Gascony down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains, as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, and 15 marks for a horse which he lost on the same service, receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor. Dec. 1. Liberate to William de Gardinis 10 marks for Easter terms in Windsor. the 38th and 39th years of his yearly fee of 5 marks. Liberate to Ernald Feidiz, king's yeoman, 81. 3s. arrears of his wages while with the king in Gascony from the Sunday after Ascension in the 38th year till All Saints following, as reckoned by Ralph Lof, clerk of the marshalsea; and 101. for his horses lost on the king's service there; receiving from him the king's letters patent therefor. To Godfrey de Liston. Contrabreve to pay to five chaplains ministering in the king's chapels at Windesores, each of whom receives 50s. yearly, their wages of 25s. each from Michaelmas in the 39th year till Easter following. Liberate to Nicholas de Stokbrigg, king's clerk, usher of the kitchen, 91. 18s. 9d. arrears of his wages while with the king on his service in Gascony as reckoned by Ralph Lof, clerk of the marshalsea. Dec. 5. Liberate to the king's brother Guy de Lezinian 1001. which he Windsor. receives yearly in the name of Gaucher de Chastillun for the manor of Derteforde, and 501. of the yearly fee of 1001. granted him as an increase of his yearly fee, both for Michaelmas term in the 39th year.
