Liberate to the wife of Roger le Taylur 10 marks to buy herself Clarendon. a robe, promised to her when the king was in Gascony, unless she has already had them by another writ under the king's seal of Gascony. To the sheriff of Cumberland. Contrabreve to amend the defects of the king's castle of Carlisle by view of good and lawful men. Liberate to Peleryn Peset 581. for 29 tuns of wine, to Bernard de Safrayn 621. for 31 tuns, and to Peter and John de Jak 1201. for 60 tuns, all taken from them for the king at Suthampton by Robert de Dacre, king's clerk, at 40s. the tun. Liberate to Ellis Gilberti and Foucaud his son 151. 16s., to Oliver de Burg 62s., to Ellis Roberti 62s., to Foucaud de Formentyn 62s., to Peter Salebrech 62s., to Raymond de Sancto Martino 62s., to Emeric de Ripariis 62s., to Hugh de Chastillun 62s., and to Raymond de Baret with another knight 61. 15s., all for arrears of wages while in the king's service in Gascony down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains, as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, and to Fulk Gilberti 15 marks for loss of a horse testified by the king's brother Geoffrey de Lezignan, receiving from them on payment the king's letters patent for these debts. Liberate to William Brand 671. 4s. 9d. for 8 pieces of Lincoln scarlet taken from him against the king's arrival from Gascony in the 39th year by Roger the tailor the king's serjeant. To the bailiffs of Suthampton. Contrabreve to carry 4 tuns of wine to Selveston and 16 to Norhampton out of 20 that they should have carried to Winchester, 6 to Geydinton that should have been carried to Chauton, and 4 to Clyve which should have been carried to Freytmauntel. Liberate to Peter de Anesye 71. 10s. for Easter term in the 38th year, 71. 10s. for Michaelmas term following, and 71. 10s. for Easter term in the 39th year, of his yearly fee of 151. May 22. Liberate to Bertram de Cygoynes 201. for Easter term in the Clarendon. 38th year and 201. for Easter term in the 39th year of his yearly fee of 201. Liberate to Segur de Castro Novo 50 marks arrears for the 38th year and 100 marks for Easter term in the 39th year of the yearly fee of 100 marks to which the king has increased his fee of 501.
