Liberate to William de Los 121. 7s. 6d. for arrears of his wages while with the king on his service in Gascony; to Lubaud de Rochechivard 71. 7s. 8d. for the like and 8 marks 11s. 4d. for a horse which the king bought for him in Gascony; to William Reller 161. 5s. 2d., and to Ralph de Lingner' 71. 2s., for like arrears of wages; to Ingram de Vilers 71. for the like, and 70s. to the use of Henry de Vilers for the like; and to Bartholomew de Fontibus 20 marks for horses lost on the king's service in Gascony, 71. for arrears as above, and 70s. to the use of William de Vernail for like arrears. Jan. 16. Allocate to Hugh Gargat, in the issues of his bailiwick, 100 marks Merton. delivered in the wardrobe at Merton to Artald de Sancto Romano, keeper, on the Friday after St. Hilary in the 39th year. Allocate to Ralph de Arderne, sheriff of Essex and Herts, in the farm of those counties, 55s. 4d. spent in purchase of hens, fowls (volatilibus), and eggs in his bailiwick for the king against the feast of St. Edward in the 39th year. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to carry 100 tuns of wine to Westminster, 10 to Mertone, 10 to Kenyton, 50 to Windesores, 4 to St. Albans, 4 to Bernewelle, 6 to Wautham, and 4 to Havering, to place in the king's cellars there, out of 188 to be taken for the king and delivered by John de Gisorc' the king's chamberlain of London. Jan. 19. Allocate to John de Doddeker and Thomas Chicche, bailiffs of Merton. Canterbury, in the farm of the city, 121. for 6 tuns of wine bought against the king's arrival in England and delivered to John de Sumerset and other the king's butlers when the king was last at Canterbury. Liberate to William de Wytsaund, without fail, laying aside all impediment and delay, 1151. 16s. 5d. custom and transit-dues (paagio) due for the king and his men and all who crossed at his cost at Wytsaund, *[and for the ships] which (quas) the king hired to ship his people to Dover, and for the freight of 27 tuns of wine carried from Wytsaund to London. To Martin de Chaumflur. Contrabreve to pay 60 marks without delay for the king's works at Guldeford to the keepers thereof out of the issues of the king's manors of Maurdin and Lugwardyn while he had the keeping of those manors. * There is no gap, but it would appear from the sense that certain words have not been copied.
