CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS.

1254. Membrane 5-cont.
To the same. Contrabreve to pay 20s. to William, vicar of
Sunnebur', as last year, in recompense for damage sustained by
the taking of his land to enlarge the king's park of Kenyton.
By the queen.
To the bailiffs of Suhampton. Contrabreve to pay for 20 tuns
of wine of lawful prisage to be delivered by Roger le Flemeng,
keeper of the king's prisage at Suhampton, in whose keeping they
are, and carry them to Portesmuth to place in the king's cellars
there.
Mandate to Roger to deliver the wine.
Mandate to the bailiffs of Portesmuth to receive it and place it
securely in safe cellars against the queen's arrival.
March 13. Liberate to Geoffrey de Langele 50 marks in part payment of the
Windsor. yearly fee of 100 marks granted to him so long as he shall remain
in the king's service in Scotland. By the queen.
To the bailiffs of Stanford. Contrabreve to pay the farm of
Staunford for Easter term next, and the arrears thereof for past
terms, with all the issues of the coming fair there, to Simon Passelewe and John de Sumercote to make the king's purchases in the
fair. By the queen.
March 13. To the bailiffs of Portesmuth. Contrabreve to receive 50 does
Reading. to be delivered by Philip le Hare, keeper of the queen's larder, to
find casks and salt to prepare (attornandam) the venison as he
will declare on the king's behalf, and to deliver it when so prepared
to John de Stratford to export to the king in Gascony.
By the queen.
To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to cause four of
the king's gerfalcons which are in the keeping of Thomas de
Hauvill to be mewed at Brikstok, finding for each of them -d.
daily and for their keeper lId. daily for his livery as long as they
are in moult.
March 24. To the bailiffs of Suhampton. Contrabreve to pay for a tun of
Marlborough. prisage-wine which the takers of the king's wines at Suhampton
will deliver to the abbot of Netley (loco Sancti Eduuardi) for
celebration of divine service in his house, as granted to him yearly
by charter.
To the bailiffs of Gloucester. Contrabreve to export to the king
in Gascony 100 quarters of wheat and 100 quarters of oats which
the abbot of Persore has given to the king and will deliver to
them.
