118 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1253. Membrane 7 —cnt. pore, keeper, on the Saturday after the Annunciation in the 37th year. To the keeper of the manor of Feckeham. Contrabreve, whereas the king is sending William his fisherman to take 80 bream in his stews there, to put them in paste (pane) and carry them to the king without delay. To the bailiffs of Bristol. Contrabreve to buy a tun of wine in their town and deliver it to brother Hamo de Hayles, lay-brother (converso), of the king's gift. April 1. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to pay 1001. Waltham. without delay to Walter de Bradele, keeper of the queen's wardrobe, to meet her debts, out of the issues of the last eyre in the county. The like to the sheriff of Oxford and Berks for another 1001. To the sheriff of Warwick. Contrabreve to bring Hugh de Bles, detained in the king's prison of Warrewyk, to London for delivery to the keeper of the king's gaol of Niwegate. To the bailiffs of Suhampton. Contrabreve, as they love themselves and their honour, to find four good ships with mariners and good equipment (armamentis) for a voyage to Gascony for Nicholas de Molis and the other knights whom the king is sending thither. To the constable of Porcestr'. Contrabreve to let the said knights have hurdles of those which are in his keeping for four ships, he being credited with the carriage thereof. To the sheriff of Lincoln. Contrabreve to let Richard de Shireburn and Roger le Taillur have 100 marks for the king's purchases in the coming fair of Staunford out of the issues of the county other than the tallage, so that those purchases may not be delayed by the sheriff's default. April 4. To the sheriff of Kent. Contrabreve to pay 27 marks to Roger Havering. de Lindestede, chaplain of the king's hospital of Ospringe, of the king's gift to the use of the hospital. Liberate to William Ern[aldi] de Cadilak 751. at the Michaelmas Exchequer in the 37th year, being 501. arrears of the yearly fee of 151. which he used to receive, and 251. for the said Michaelmas term which the king has granted to him yearly at that term, after receiving from him the king's letters patent for that sum. Thus he is fully satisfied of his fee down to Michaelmas in the 37th year.
