The like to Isabel wife of Robert de Cantuaria for 10 marks. MEMBRANE 1. Sept. 22. Liberate to Fulk de Mungumery 25s. to buy himself one horse Bordeaux. Of the king's gift. To the bailiffs of Bristol. Contrabreve to cause Walter Alardi, who brought news to the king of the capture of William de Mariscis, to have 10 marks of the king's gift out of the farm of the town. Sept. 24. Liberate to Master Ralph de Neketon 25 marks of the king's gift Bordeaux. to meet his expenses in the king's service in the parts of Poitou and Gascony. Liberate to Walter de Luton 20 marks of the king's gift. Liberate to Giles de Clifford, who was in the king's service with another knight in the parts of Poitou and Gascony, 91. for his wages from the Tuesday after St. Laurence to the Thursday before Michaelmas, both days included. Sept. 26. Liberate to Nicholas de Molis 25 marks to buy himself one horse Bordeaux. of the king's gift. Nicholas de Bolevill has the like for 20 marks. Oct. 2. Liberate to Raymond Machainh, the king's citizen of Bordeaux, Bordeaux. 500 marks received of him on loan, which the king is bound to repay at the coming feast of St. Martin in the 27th year by his letters patent (Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1232-1247, p. 327), which letters are to be received on delivery of the money. Liberate to the prior of La Grave to the use of the nuns of Fontevrault 701. for Michaelmas term which they receive yearly of the king's fixed alms, and 50s. for the same term which they ought to receive yearly to maintain a chaplain celebrating for the soul of queen Eleanor the king's grandmother. The letters were patent because of the dangers (discrimina) of the roads. Oct. 4. Liberate to Guybert de Rue 100s. at the Easter Exchequer of Bordeaux. the king's gift. Oct. 6. Allocate to M. countess Warenne, in the issues of lands of W. Bordeaux. formerly earl Warenne which are in her keeping, 101. which she paid to Robert de Stopham by order of the king.
