June 1556 as caster of gold and silver at the Lisbon Mint. GONCALVES, AFONSO (Portug.). Goldsmith and Moneyer; appointed Master-of the Mint at Lisbon, 13. July I539. GONCALVES, ANTONIO (Portug.). Mint-master at Porto, 1536, and again, r55o. GONCALVES, JOAO (Portug.). Moneyer at Lisbon, 1554. GONCALVES, VASCO (Portug.). Mint-engraver at Lisbon, under D. Afonso V. (I438-71). GONDRY, RENAUD DE (Belg.). Mint-master at Malines, 3. November 1390 to 29. October I392. GONZAGA (Porting.). Signature of LUIS GONZAGA PEREIRA, Mintengraver at Lisbon, circ. I830, by whom is a Trial piece for a commemorative medal of Camoens, of that year. I have also seen by him a Portrait-medal of D. Pedro IV., dated I833. GONZALES DE SEPULVEDA, PEDRO TEODORO (Span.). Medallist and Mint-engraver in Madrid; officially appointed at the Mint in I809, under Joseph Napoleon, in which office he was confirmed by Ferdinand VII in 18I4. By him are Madrid Proclamation medals oi Charles IV, I789, and others. GONZALES, PAUL (French). Contemporary Sculptor and Medallist, born in Marseilles; pupil of Carli. At the Paris Salon 1912 he exhibited a medal of Christ, in silver. GONZALES SEPULVEDA, MARIANO (Span.). Born in Madrid in 1774; son of Pedro; Chief-engraver at the Madrid Mint; died in 1842. Worked under Droz in Paris, 1797, and on his return to Spain, was appointed Engraver to the Court; in 1809 Assistantengraver to the Mint; in I820, I824 and I830, Chief-engraver and Director of the Department of Engraving. By him are: Pattern piece after Droz with busts conjoined of the King and Queen, I801; - Medal in honour of Prince de la Paz, I804; -Industrial Prize medals of Ferdinand VII, 1827; - Joseph Napoleon, I8I; - Medal of Merit of Isabella II, I84I, etc. Vide SEPULVEDA (B.
