The Negro's church,.

122 The Negro's Church the regular church activities; and in the minds of the persons in charge, the church work seems to be secondary. When a comprehensive list of the activities taken from all the churches is examined, it appears that about ten activities and organizations are generally used. Those used by 100 per cent. of the churches are: preaching, union services and interchurch cooperation, missionary societies, and various forms of club work. Approximately all of the churches have a Sunday church school, give relief to the poor, and conduct revival meetings. About three-fourths or more have choirs, young people's work, and prayer meetings. Table VI shows a summary of forty activities included in the programs of the urban churches studied.
