The Message of the Minister 8 89 to pay God? Let us consecrate to God our minds, thoughts, strength, and our time. These are the things God has given us with which we can pay Him back. THE PURSUING GOD The subject is "The Pursuing God." Jesus showed us this by using the parable of the ninety and nine. This shows us that we do not only pursue God, but that God is forever pursuing us. What a comfort it is this morning to know that God is ever seeking us. Satan may put blockades in the way but God goes in seeking to find what our cup of bitterness is. Whenever you are scorned, rebuked, don't be discouraged, God is seeking you. Man seeking God is the romance of religion. We humble ourselves and kneel at the altar of God. This has been the story throughout the ages, but do we ever stress the fact that God is forever looking for us? Let us talk over the various styles in which God pursues man. Let us review the story of Elijah. Elijah followed God because he realized that God was always with him, always seeking him. When he realized that his enemies were upon him he knew that those against him were not stronger than those that were for him. So I say again that the history of the race will be "God's pursuit of man." God followed Abraham and had him to tell Sarah not to worry for deliverance would surely come. God goes out into the fields with David. God finds job in the ash heap and there He speaks to Job telling Him to follow him. We could go on enumerating thousands of ways in which God has pursued man if we only had the time. I do not need to tell you that it is never too late, to know the good graces of God. There is only one person who can give us the satisfaction that a Christian worker should have and that person is God. I will cite a little incident that happened one evening while I was on my way home from work. This happened before I was in the ministerial work. I was walking down X street when a light snow was falling. I could see by the tracks in the snow that only two people had preceded me since the snowfall. When I looked ahead of me I saw two men running, one looked as if he was pursuing the other. I quickened my steps trying to see
