The notary's nose;

THIS TRANSLATION IS WITHOUT HIS KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT DEDICA TED TO EDWARD B. DICKINSON, A STENOGRAPHER WHO NOT ONLY, BY HIS SKILL IN HIS ART, RELIEVED THE TRANSLATOR OF MUCH LABOR, BUT BY HIS AMIABLE DISPOSITION, GOOD TASTE, AND KNOWLEDGE OF MANY TONGUES, WENT BEYOND HIS MERE PROFESSIONAL DUTY TO FREQUENTLY OFFER THE RIGHT WORD WHEN THE TRANSLATOR HESITATED, AND TO SOMETIMES SUGGEST A BETTER WORD THAN THE TRANSLATOR HAD UTTERED.
