Addendum.
The relation of 6'-siru to e'-nuru can be further illustrated by a-sir
ga~ implore (BR. 11575), a-ge-ir *tanihu, sighing, (11574) and
a-nir ==tanihu (11541). Both a-se-ir and a-nir are found in classical
inscriptions. a-sve-ir CT XV 23, rev. 3. s'ag-ga a-s'e-ir =- libba4%tu tasallummia, SBH 35, 1. a-nir-mal-mal = u~stannnah IV R 27 a 32. a-nir,

Although both forms, ~er, sir and fir are early, yet it is probable
that the form Ager, sir is original; the root is sir =- sardhu (BR. 4333).
