A XV 10 gl'-de-a uru-ni gjir-su-(ki)-~O g6tn-u-na-sig-, sigr=" ' Gudea gathered (wood) for' his city Girsu";gathered " in sense of "Imake abundant ". 31. 7 in a difficult construction Ur-Bau, St. VI 6 nin gcz-a sigj-a-ra =="for the lady who... ". Here sig is the verb and goor tig is in the instrumental case. Cf. IV R 30 b 5-7 gt4-siq-sig -=pahtiru. Gud. Cyl. B XI 21-23 gan-lzid-bi.. -. ga-gar-bar... 9ft-gur-gur-rada " that the sacred field might fill the clean granaries, ". The construction is closely parallel to the gerund construction in Latin pro campo fructum ferendo, although one expects the oblique case g-anzid-ba with da. Gud. Cyl. Urukagina, Cone B XII 26-28 d. nin-gir-su-da uru-ka-gi-na inim-.bi ka-e-da-ke' -I "with Ningirsu, Urukagina made this compact ".
