was announced by Ninzagga. This is not a verbal compound but
shows how such compounds originally arose. The original sense
make an oracle" never passed into a real verb capable of taking
an external object.

notice also the two nouns in apposition both in oblique case. In cases
like this where the scribe does not reproduce the elements in the prefixes it is difficult to assign ba to its proper antecedent. It is most
likely the dative with- subject and object omitted. The full form
would be ma-ba-ni-il-il.
