1. According to line 19, the addressee was Mannu-ki-Asur.
3. In Zutah-ziz we have the name of the god Suteh, which Mr Tomkins
has also detected in 'Sateh-beg, the name of a North Syrian city in the
geographical list of Thothmes III (no 155).
5. The custom of swearing an oath on the top of a staff was frequent
in Egypt; see SPIEGELBaERG in the Rectieil dle travaux rela/ifs a' la philologic et a' l'archeologie edgyptienncs et assyrienn.?s XXV, pp. 184-190.
There is probably a reference to the same custom in Gen. XLVII, 31. See
also above, GOL. Xl, 19-20. - irkum is from r-aga~inu.
