1. This literary form of repeating the first line with an additional epithet is
from the Sumerians; ef. also C"'T XV 10. The form became con~ventional in the
song-services; ef. SBH 36, ZA X 276 and passim.
2. Text sag, but cf.- CT XV 10 obv. 4 and passim in SBI3 as 29, 2 etc., and for
similar mistake of sag for dtsg CT XV 30, 11.

4. Such is the accepted phonetic reading for igi t Si, but i-ge is possible and
perhaps the true pronunciation, cf.- Babyl. II 71 note 1.

In stead of hi-gal, most texts have ~-nam-ti-la, so the var. A and SBH 95,10;
133,57. It would seem then that hi-gal and du.am-li-la are epithets of hen-tsr.
From Sarput I 145 we know that hen-tsr was thLe temple of Ninlil, cf. also
BA V 634,9:VI pt. 3, 26 no 34, here Ammiditana erects a statue of his ancestor
Samsuiluna in Enamtila. According to the date of the 31st year of Ammiditana, a throne was placed here for Ninib but as Ninib was the son of Enlil and
Ninlil,this is not surprising and in no way compels us to regard dnamtil as the
temple of Ninib, with UNGNAD, 1. C.
