Two roots la'dbu must be assumed: 1. ln5 " burn ", whence labitz " roasted corn", ZLIMG 1904 912: K 55 obv. 11, syn. of quzlc, and 2. la'abu " entwine, wrap ", idgr. sa-hir. For second sense, cf. CT XVII 42, 12 lubu~tu libia " the garment that enfolds ". A la'aba with meanings "1 bedrmngen, etc- " 1HW 364i does not exist. An other ideogram for la'fibu " enfold " is dih SAI 2602, syni. of lamfi and saharu (duzb) " surround ". tiba, ii ibaz SAL 2603 DELrTZSCH'S " Pluge " 11W 364. The 1i 'bat which HW gives -1BR. 3066 " fever" belongs to= I " burn " 7 9. <IN T - T ",-T r-gi-ra- daku SAl 3220; like agr (dialectic am VII. 1I e 7 and for agj cf. loan-word agaunl (aq-qaul) I" hatchet, ax ", BR. 121353), the word ag BR. 4735 often does no more than to strengthen the root and may be used as first element of the compound or as the verb itself ie. second element (cf. d'gr-agr" emnploy speech" BR,. 776, and ka-qrar in same sense).See further Aig-.4ar-~ar =-rak~ku "make fine, mince up "SAI 3224; a value rahkihu " mince" is therefore to be assumed for -4 -4 syn. of balada " mix", and cf. raiqqu " salve " CT XIX 19, 44 f.-, with LSS II 1 3.
