Contrabreve to pay 60s. yearly to the abbot of Chester at the terms which the king granted to him by charter, so long as they hold the town from the king at farm, as he used to receive it by the hand of James de A[ldithele] when he held the town at farm. Oct. 12. Allocate to Robert Basset, in the farm of co. Northampton Westminster. while he was sheriff, 5s. 2d. spent in carriage of two carts laden with lead from Norhampton to Windesores. Liberate without delay to P. Chaceporc, keeper of the wardrobe, 1001. for the expenses of the household. MEMBRANE 2. Oct. 14. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to let five sisters Westminster. minors at Norhampton have five tunics of russet of the king's gift. To the same. Contrabreve to carry to the king without delay the game which G. de Langele delivered to him to salt and keep for the king. To the sheriff of Wilts. Like order as to 22 bucks delivered by G. de Langele. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to finish the wardrobe by the queen's chamber at Geytinton begun when Robert [Basset] was sheriff, and to roof the king's buildings at Clive as may be necessary, the cost to be credited by view. Liberate to the king's kinsman William de Chabbeneis 151. for Michaelmas term in the 3[6th?] year of the 301. granted to him yearly for the life of Margaret de Vernun. Oct.... To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to find lid. daily Westminster. as livery of a groom keeping six of the king's gerfalcons which were lately sent to the king and are now in the keeping of Henry de Hauvill at Brikestok, so long as the birds are in moult. Oct. 17. To the sheriff of Somerset. Contrabreve to bring Thomas de Westminster. Walingeford the king's approver under a sure guard to the Tower of London and deliver him to the constable, who is commanded to receive him and keep him in the king's prison till further orders. Oct. 16. Liberate to Walter de Bradele, keeper of the queen's wardrobe, Westminster. ]201. for her expenses.
