44 HENRY III. 535 1260. Membrane 1-cont. castle during the king's pleasure, and the like yearly so long as he has the keeping of the castle and is indebted to the king, seeing that the king has ordered by writ of liberate the delivery to him at the Exchequer of the remaining 5 marks yearly so long as he has the keeping of the castle. By C. Liberate to the same earl 5 marks for this year for keeping the castle of Devizes, as above, and 5 marks yearly in future; also 50s. wages of the king's chaplain ministering in the chapel of the castle for this year, and the like yearly in future so long as he has the keeping of the castle. By C. Allocate to William de Hanyton, formerly keeper of the abbey of Burton-on-Trent, in the issues thereof, 131. 6s. 8d. delivered in the wardrobe at Clarendon to Aubrey de Fiscampis and Peter de Winton, clerks and keepers thereof, on Saturday, the feast of St. Cuthbert. Oct. 27. Allocate to Henry de Bathonia, in his debts to the king, 50 Westminster. marks for Michaelmas term in the 44th year of the 100 marks which he receives at the Exchequer. By K. Oct. 27. Liberate to Alan de Benetleye 468. 8d. for 2 pipes of purchased Westminster. must, to John... raunt * of Canterbury 46s. 8d. for the like, to Henry de Covintre 71. 13s. 4d. for 2 tuns and a pipe, to Robert Ratun of London 41. 13s. 4d. for 2 tuns, to......* de Synes' 201. 13s. 4d. for 2 tuns of must of lawful prisage and 8 tuns purchased, and to Arnold de Byvers 201. for 8 tuns of old wine purchased, all taken by Peter de Gisorciis the king's chamberlain of London against the feast of St. Edward in the 44th year. * [Oct.] 28. Allocate to Thomas Gresle, justice of the forest this side Trent, Westminster. in the farm of the bailiwick of the forest between the bridges of Oxford and Stamford [or in] * the other issues of his bailiwick, 100 marks for Easter term and 100 marks for Michaelmas term in the 44th year of the 200 marks granted to him to receive yearly by his own hand from the issues of his bailiwick so long as he remains in the said office of justice. Liberate to James de Aldythel' 201. for Michaelmas term in the Westminster. 44th year of the 401. granted to him yearly at the Exchequer till the king shall make provision for him of that amount in wards or escheats.
