508 CALENDAR OF LIBERATE ROLLS. 1260. Membrane 7-cont. Liberate without delay to Geoffrey de Burlemunt, returning homewards, 100 marks on his fee. By C. Allocate to Nicholas de Haudlou, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester, in the issues thereof, 700 marks delivered in the wardrobe at Westminster on the Thursday after Trinity to Aubrey de Fiscampis and Peter de Winton, clerks thereof. Liberate to Bernard de Broce and Hisard de Monevall 20s. each for their expenses homewards as an imprest on the debt due to them at the Exchequer at Michaelmas next. June 5. Allocate to Nicholas de Haudlo, keeper of the bishopric of Westminster. Winchester, in the issues thereof, 200 marks granted to him to take yearly thence by his own hand for his expenses from the time when he first received the said keepership so long as he retains it. By R. earl of Gloucester, H. le Bygod, justiciar, J. Mansell, and others of the council. To Richard de Freitmantel, keeper of the manors of Cokham and Braye. Contrabreve to let Master Gilbert the king's carpenter have 6 marks 10s. 10d. out of the issues of his bailiwick, balance of 71. 17s. 6d. long due to him for wages, which the king long ago commanded Henry de Farlegh, formerly keeper of the said manors, to let him have out of their issues. Gilbert received only 5 marks thereof, which were allowed to Henry at the Exchequer, as the king is informed by the barons. To the sheriff of Surrey. Contrabreve to take with him the parker and two viewers of the king's park of Guldeford, to view the defects in the fencing, and to repair them where absolutely necessary by view and testimony of the said viewers. June 8. Liberate to Henry de Cnarburg, knight, 40 marks arrears of his Merton. wages while with the king in his service in Gascony down to the Thursday after St. Peter's Chains in the 38th year, reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), clerk, receiving from Henry the king's letters patent therefor. By the justiciar. To Nicholas de Haudlo, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester. Contrabreve to block up and repair as necessary the breach of the great stew in the manor of Wautham, which is part of the bishopric and in the king's hand, spending up to 201. out of the issues of the bishopric unless the work can be done for less. By K. June 8. Liberate to Hugh le Bygod, justiciar of England, 1,000 marks Merton. for the present year, provided yearly by the magnates of the council to maintain himself in his office. By K. & C.
