Contrabreve to pay out of the farm of their town for a tun of prisage-wine for this year, which the keepers of the king's wines at Suthampton will deliver for the purpose, as the king has granted the like yearly by charter to the abbot and convent of Beaulieu to celebrate divine service in their house. Allocate to James le Sawage, formerly sheriff of Hants, in the Westminster. issues of the last forest eyre in the county, 110 marks delivered to Patrick de Cadurcis in the 41st year for arrears of his yearly fee at the Exchequer and other arrears due to him, receiving from James the letters patent whereby Patrick testified the receipt of the money. Jan. 19. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to let James de Westminster. Aldythleg' have 15 marks for his expenses while on eyre with Giles de Erdington, out of the issues of the eyre in the county held by him, the said Giles, and Philip Marmiun. To the sheriff of Kent. Contrabreve to let Peter de Burton have 12d. daily from Michaelmas last so long as he is sheriff to maintain himself while dwelling in garrison in Dover castle, as he had in the times of other sheriffs, the king having long ago granted him that sum by the hands of former sheriffs, to whom it was allowed yearly in the body of the county. Jan. 26. To the sheriff of Northampton. Contrabreve to cause six of the Westminster. king's falcons which are in the keeping of Ralph de Erleham to be mewed at Geytinton, and to find for each of them id. daily, for three greyhounds their necessaries of id. each daily, and for a groom to keep them all lid. daily for his livery so long as the falcons are in moult.
