43 HENRY III. 479 1259. Membrane 2-cont. To Nicholas de Haudlou, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester.* Contrabreve to send the king 10 swans of those.......... at Alreford, 2............ which the king's buyers lately left (dimiserunt) at Sutton, and... [peacocks] which they likewise [left] at Bruham, with all the swans, peacocks,......., and roes which they can................................ so that the keepers of the larder may have them at Westminster on this....... or [early in the morning] of the Sunday before St. Edward, in no wise failing hereof as he loves the king's [honour]; the cost of carriage to be credited. Oct. 10. To the bailiff of Haveryng. Contrabreve to let [Robert, Westminster. chaplain] t of Haveryng, have his wages of 50s. yearly [out of the issues] of the manor from Michaelmas in this year so long as he is bailiff. Oct. 11. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to receive 10 tuns of Westminster. must which Peter de Gisorcio the king's chamberlain of London will deliver, and to carry them without delay to Westminster and deliver them to the [king's] * butler [there].* Allocate to Henry de Bathonia, in his debts to the king, 50 marks for this Michaelmas term of the 100 marks granted to him to maintain himself in the king's service. By J. Mansell. Allocate to Richard de Clare, earl of Gloucester and Hertford, in his debts first due at the Exchequer, 401. 19s. 5d. which he should have received this year for the barton of Bristol. Oct. 15. Allocate to the burgesses of Stanford, in the farm of their town, Westminster. 2001. delivered in the 39th year to Walter de Bradele, then keeper of the [queen's] * wardrobe, for the queen's expenses, for which he answered at the Exchequer, as has been testified by the barons. Allocate to the abbot of Rames', in his fine of 500 marks for holding the fair of St. Ives, 50 marks delivered to Audebert the p[rovost] last [year] in part payment of arrears of the fee which he receives at the Exchequer. Allocate to John de Wyvill 30 marks for this Michaelmas term (as on p. 441). Oct. 16.
