43 HENRY III. 471 1259. Membrane 3 —cont. 6s. 8d., expenses of the men who carried the money to London, and 34 marks paid to the prior of Bermundeseye for arrears of a yearly rent of 12 marks due from the bishop of Winchester for the time being for houses in Suwerk belonging to the bishopric. Mandate (as in third entry above) for payment of 20 marks to Arnold de Sonevill and his two brothers, for which a writ of liberate was sent to the Exchequer in the time of Philip Lovel, formerly treasurer. Liberate to the said Arnold and his brothers 13 marks on the arrears of their fee. Liberate to William de Muntrevel 25 marks, and to William Arnaldi de Cadilac 15 marks, of the king's gift to maintain themselves in his service while going to the parts of France. Vacated quia aliter inferius (3rd entry below). Liberate to Stephen son of Nicholas Sarrasin (Saraceni), at the next Michaelmas Exchequer, 401. for the same term of his yearly fee. Aug. 3. Mandate to the treasurer and chamberlains to let Michael Westminster. Clyncard and his partners, merchants of Doway, have 1111. 7s. by parcels as soon as may conveniently be, being arrears of 221. 14s., due for cloth long ago taken from them for the king, for which there is a writ of liberate at the Exchequer. Liberate to William de Muntrevel 25 marks and to William Ernaldi de Cadilac 15 marks on their arrears. Aug. 8. Liberate to Ernald de Sena and his partner, merchants of Siena, Windsor. 1001. [at the Michaelmas Exchequer] * in part payment of 6001. due to them, receiving from them their letters patent testifying the payment. By the justiciar. Liberate to Amauvin de Vareys (Varesio) 50 marks for Michaelmas term in the 41st year and 50 marks for Michaelmas term in the 42nd year of his yearly fee of 50 marks. Liberate to the same 50 marks at next Michaelmas Exchequer for the arrears of his yearly fee for Michaelmas in the 41st year (sic), and 50 marks at the Easter Exchequer following for the arrears thereof for Michaelmas term in the 42nd year, unless he has already had these sums by other writs of liberate, receiving from him the king's letters patent which he has therefor. * Interlined.
