Contrabreve to finish the works Westminster. begun in the castle of Notingham, and to repair the buildings and other things there which are in absolute need thereof, the cost to be credited by view. Feb. 22. Allocate to William le Latymer, sheriff of York, in his farm of Westminster. the county, 100 marks delivered to Margaret queen of Scotland the king's daughter of the king's gift to despatch certain business of hers. Allocate to Robert de Grendon, formerly sheriff of Salop, in the issues of the county, 101. 2s. 4d. spent in repairs of the king's hall in the castle of Bruges and the king's cistern at Muntgomery, and 421. spent in raising and repairing the pond of the king's stew at Stafford, as the king understands by Robert's oath (fidei dacionem). To the sheriff of Nottingham. Contrabreve to repair the king's ponds at Clipstone where absolutely necessary, the cost to be credited by view. Feb. 22. Liberate without delay to Aubrey de Fiscampis and Peter de Westminster. Winton, clerks of the wardrobe, 10001. for the expenses of the household. Feb. 25. To Nicholas de Haudlou, keeper of the bishopric of Winchester. Westminster. Contrabreve to repair where absolutely necessary out of the issues of the bishopric the buildings of the manors thereto belonging which have been overthrown by the wind, and to pay the fixed alms to those persons to whom they are due, the cost to be credited by view. Feb. 27. To the bailiffs of Windesores. Contrabreve to repair and amend Windsor. a breach in the wall of the castle of Windesores where absolutely necessary out of the farm of their town by view and counsel of the keepers of the king's works there, the cost to be credited by view. March 3. To the sheriffs of London. Contrabreve to pay out of the farm Wallingford. of their town for the carriage of 160 tuns of wine to Westminster [and for the hooping thereof],* as has been usual in the times of * Interlined.
