41 HENRY III. 391 1257. Membrane 3-cont. colleague, takers for the king's wardrobe, have them to pay for certain purchases of the king, not failing hereof etc. July 30. Allocate to William Maunsell, formerly sheriff of Warwick and Lichfield. Leicester, in the issues of those counties, 231. 3s. 6d. spent on boars, pigs, sheep, fowls, capons, chickens, and eggs, and in carriage thereof to Wodestok against the Assumption in the 40th year, as reckoned and testified by Imbert Pogeys the king's steward and Peter de Winton, clerk of the wardrobe. Afterwards this writ was lost, and another was issued in the same form with the clause nisi. Aug. 1. Allocate to Hugh de Acovre, sheriff of Salop and Stafford, in the issues of those counties, 16 marks delivered to Ralph de Teruen', canon of Lichefeld, William de Eccleshale, and Master Thomas Comyn for 4 tuns of wine taken when the king was last at Lichefeld by J. de Somerset, king's butler. Cancelled quia aliter per breve de liberate et reddidit breve. To the sheriff of Warwick and Leicester. Contrabreve to let the dean and chapter of Lichefeld have 10 marks without delay out of the issues of those counties to make two silver candlesticks of the king's gift for their church of Lichefeld. To the sheriff of Somerset and Dorset. Contrabreve to let Nicholas de Molis, going on the king's expedition to the parts of South Wales, have 60 marks of the king's gift without delay out of the issues of the counties. To the sheriff of Nottingham and Derby. Contrabreve to receive 60 stags from Edward the king's son's forest of the Peak and 20 from his forest of Makelesfeld, which the king's huntsmen Richard and William de Candovre have been ordered to take and deliver, and to salt the venison and carry it to the king at Chester by parcels as taken, for delivery to the keepers of the larder there. Aug. 3. To the sheriff of Stafford. Contrabreve to repair the bridge of Newcastle. the king's stew of Stafford where absolutely necessary, the cost to underLyme. be credited by view. To the sheriff of Norfolk. Contrabreve to levy 2241. without delay out of the issues of the last eyre in the county, and let the king's brother Guy de Lezingnan have them for arrears of his fee, being 1001. of his yearly fee of 2001., and 501. of the 1001. yearly addition thereto, both for this Easter term, and 741. arrears. To the sheriff of Lancaster. Contrabreve to receive 20 bucks and 10 stags which Hugh the Frenchman and John le Naper,
